Carnatic music is the traditional and spiritual music of southern india. It is the heritage of the ancient indian culture and wonderful asset of south india. The three great composers (often called as Sangeetha mummorthis) namely Muthuswami Dikshitar, Shyama sastry and Thyaga brahmam composed ample of heart touching divine krithis in various languages and they are still renowned by the music community.The other composers are Papanasam Sivan, Ootthukkadu venkata subbaiyer, Patnam subramanya iyer, Swathi thirunaal, Annamacharya to name a few.Famous musicians and maestros added more value to the carnatic music community. Some of them are Madurai Mani iyer, Maharajapuram Viswanatha iyer, Musiri subramnaya iyer, Semmangudi Srinivasa iyer, Ariyakkudi Ramanuja iyengar, GN Balasubramaniyam, DK Pattammal, MS Subbulakshmi, to name very few.
